Guilty as charged, paid $100, but I do like the scope

If you only paid $100, you got lucky. Besides, that was what they were selling at origionally from Marstar. But the guy selling them on ebay was intentionally trying to pass them off as a sniper item, and photographing one on a 4t. In fine print somewhere in his ad was eventually a note saying that many readers indicated it was for a Carl G, but yet the ads kept coming with the "sniper" connotation attached.

So, OS, now you have to find yourself a Carl G.

    And so, in that vein:

Actually there is a drawing in Laidlericon's "Armourer's Perspective" which shows the proposed mount. I believe that they built 1 as an experiment.

Yes, that's true. And the scope this guy sold is obviously the one used on one mount that probably never left the factory. Guess the buyer got quite a bargain...

The one for sale was aqquired from a former sniper.
I'm not really sure why we are so dis-trusting of ebay sellers. He made it clear the scope came from a sniper, so therefore it is a sniper's scope. Mind you, if the buyer is, say an astronomer, it will now be an astronomer's scope. Or a butchers scope, or a farmer's scope.......

Yeah, I'll be alot of snipers were allowed to keep their issue scopes when the ended their military service. Makes perfect sense, doesn't it?
