recoil pad to change length of pull
has anyone used a recoil pad for a dual purpose of reducing recoil and lengthening length of pull? If so what product has been used the most?

Are you putting it on a sporting rifle/shotgun?
Pachmayr® Pachmayr your primary source for quality handgun grips and recoil pads
See the pads and spacers for adjusting LOP.
A military rifle may be trickier since the butt stocks may be more generous and hollowed out for cleaning gear/tools etc. On some Military Rifles the buttplate wraps over the top of the stock and is inletted.
The basic answer to your question is yes. Pads and spacers are used to adjust LOP. Sometimes the adjustments are substantial as when a gun cut down for a yout is lengthened back to adult size.

Jim

A classy way to do this on a Springfield would be to use one of the "Grenadier" reproduction Black rubber GI pads with the ordnance "Bomb" and part number - and it includes three spacers for internal use. It slips on and off, so no damage to your stock to use it. Just got one off ebay, will be trying it soon. CC
