garand clip problem
Just picked up an International Harvester M1 garand this weekend. I've owen several carbines over the years, but this is my first garand. My problem is with the clip ejecting before they are empty. They go in and lock and will feed and fire great, but as soon as it gets down to the last 3 rounds the clip ejects. Is this a problem with the clips themselves or is there something in the gun that i need to look at? I don't know where the clips were manufactured, no markings on the end of them. Thanks for any and all help on this

Since it's a new Garand for you it is a good practice to replace all the springs, what you are experiencing is hopefully just a weak clip latch spring.

1) Bad clips , make sure they've good , deep latch grooves.
2) Bad clip latch spring , replace
3) Worn down bullet guide hump. Mike the hight of the hump at the end of the tail and report. Replace if too short .
4) Worn clip latch hook , replace as needed
5) Bent follower arm ,replace if bent.
If it's not one of these , I'd be surprised. While your at it , check your mainspring for wear / flat spots and measure it's length. Be sure to grease it .
