    Nice Cabelas Find

I was at cabelas today and I noticed a they had a Jap rifle. It was a Type 44 in average condition with numbers matching and rough, but not pitted bore with the rifiling still strong. I still ha the mum on top. It still had is folding bayo attached as well. The overall condition was good but as usual it was way overpriced. The were asking $769.99 for the old girl. There was a strange lever next to the butplate on one side. It is pictured below. Any ideas on what its function is? I tried to move it but it was a no go. It was slotted for possibly a screwdriver? What do you guys think?

Seen here is the "lever" or catch that I was describing

The lever is for the little trap in The butt for the cleaning rod. Nice find!

With that price I would say it will be there for some time. Come on down and get it.

Too far for me to travel for that rifle. Now if that was a military vehicle......

Finding those in any condition, with an intact mum and matching is a find.
