    DGR Restored M1 Repaired!!!

Paul Goedde in a nearby TN town took a look at my M1icon. If you recall from my previous posts, the M1 jammed the 1st time I used it and there was a burr at the receiver end of the barrel. Paul immediately saw the burr and he removed it. He then checked the head space....it's good. He cycled some dummy rounds and then fired off a clip. Everything seems to be fine now.

How the burr got there is still a mystery!!! Any ideas? If you would like pix of the burr, I can email them to you.

If you want to email me pics to badger@milsurps.com, I'll post them in this thread for you ...

I'm not an M1icon collector, so I can't help you with the burr issue...

    Regards,
    Doug

Maybe the remains of a tack weld that was removed? I have seen that.

The guy who checked it out for him a while back reported the follower was put in backwards...best best is that Dean had nothing to do with this issue, and certainly had no responsibility to take back a rifle ten years after the fact...but glad the OP got his Garandicon fixed.

Now get out there and shoot it and let us know how it goes.
