1910 Ross sporter in 280 question

I have a very nice 280 ross I purchased a year ago and I can not get the extractor to pull the spent shell out. Will a military extractor from a 303 ca. rifle work on this? I thought about building up the rim of the extractor a little with a wire feed welder but do not want to start that project if I could just buy one. I see the 303 extractors once in a while but never a 280 cal extractor..............Thanks!

    Zemeinc:
Military extractor will work just fine, but unless yours is broken it should extract. Try removal and bending in the head end and then try again.
If you have a proof stamp on the extractor it is alreadt a military (.303) one.
Try Numrich or BarryJ on the Ross rifle site, but if no other source pans out I have a spare or two.
I am on the wrong side of the razor wire so it will take awhile but I will help out if absolutely no other source.

Thanks OGC! ............I will try bending the extractor and will get back to you if I run out of the options you suggested. Its a great help just to know the 280 and 303 are the same extractor.
