A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I am very fortunate in being able to shoot on a regular basis at + 1000 yds range (Warcop MOD England icon

) and can confirm that old milsurp rifles are VERY capable of hitting a plate target regularly at 1000 yds +.

My favorite for that range is a bit of a put together. a 27.5 inch hammer forged chordal barrel stamped identical to the A42A1 with a Lee enfield receiver. Moderated by Fulton of Bisley with Parker Hale iron sights shooting NATO 7.62 rounds, Unusual but dead accurate.
