    another p-13 Bayo question

I read the p-13 scabbard thread with interest. I was thinking I ought to get at least one for my P-14's. I have one of each maker. At a gun show today I found several. Three of them were priced at 200 to 250. I didn't get any of those.

This one I got. The scabbord has Brit acceptance stamp on it. The blade is a mat finish and heat blued at the hilt. It has not been sharpened.

As you can see it's marked Remington with 1913 and 8/17

This has me confused. The Britishicon acceptance has been over stamped and US is double stamped. One of the other bayonets I saw was marked the same way. It was priced at 250. Is there anything hokey about this Do I have a real P-13 bayo or did I get screwed?

After the p-14 contracts were completed and the U.S. put th 1917 into production, there was a large surplus of bayonets allready completed and stamped with the british acceptance marks. Those bayonets had the british marks crossed out and the US stamping applied. So it was made for the british but never made it to them for WWI. They go for a lot less on e-pay.
