    M1 and M14 Trigger Sears

On the commercial market, over the years, many have grinded the M14icon sear down to the M1 dimensions.

Bill, would this then be a controlled part?

No. As I understand all the automatic parts for the M14 are not controlled. The reason is there is a downward piece with an installation hole on auto receivers. Because the commerciial M1Aicon receivers do not have that piece, none of the M14 auto parts will convert.

    Pre WW2 SA sear

It would appear that SA had more than one type of sear design during the pre war period.
Note the "hump" on this sear installed on a revision 2 trigger. Most of the rev 2 triggers are without the hump on the sear.
