A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Squared rear handguard, looks like the proper front and rear sights. Looks good from what I can see... nice score.

I always wondered why the Fin's copied Russianicon Weapons instead of simply inventing their own. What they did with the Mosin is amazing. Imagine if they started from the beginning. She sure is pretty.

Economics. Finland was cash strapped after gaining independence and was already using the Mosin Nagant when the country was part of the Russian Empire. Also Finnishicon leaders rightly guessed that any future war would be with the Soviet Union and so by using the Mosin Nagant, they could use captured Russian ammo to supplement their own limited supply.

Finland did improve upon the Mosin Nagant design with tighter tolerances and increased accuracy over their Russian cousins.

    Sorry for the delay...

Metal is in good shape. Unfortunately, some nitwit polyurethaned to stock

Bore looks decent, Range report to follow

Anyone venture a guess as to bore diameter on this one?
