I have a buddy who has a FN-49 in 7.62mm. It will not run right. Fires, jams, clear jam, fire and jam. Not sure if they were carried and never fired. Likely seldom fired

CALIF-STEVE: Has your friend tried to adjust the gas system for the ammunition he is using? Google "FN49 gas adjustment", the tool is available from Numrich or an M14icon Castle Nut Wrench works fine.

    BREAKER: Sent a Postal MO.

    HTH

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I've since seen FN 49's with an FN (metric) mag in 7.62x51. As was previously suggested, the Argentineicon forces had them done at one time. I'd have sure likes to have found one of those...
