Salt I 1972, Salt II 1979. They did indeed limit all sorts of weapons, not just missles. Lots of submarines decommisioned. But it was a Green President who ordered the Mausers destruction. They were cut-up so that no parts could be recovered. Total destruction. I really don't know how any got out of Norway. My rifle has a very poor bore, but most have nice bores. I can't find a Norwegianicon 30-'06 barrel, either. Oh, well.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. I forgot to add this. My Norwegianicon buddy told me along with the Mauser rifles all M1icon Carbines in storage were also cut-up. He liked the carbine (he carried one in the Norwegian Army) and felt their destruction made no sense.

Well, they didn't cut all of them up. A private investor purchased 75,000 K98icon's and has no export license. He can only sell approved rifles to sportsmen. Then there is the stack of welded rifles at the Military Museum in Oslo. When I was there 7 years ago I crawled around and found three SS marked ones among other rarities. I almost cried......they used floorplates and followers welded from action to action to create the sculpture. Regards, Rick.

Oh, good grief. I hope some of those 75,000 head this way.
