20-22 inch "Tanker" Garand

All of the "Tanker" Garands I have seen have had 18 inch barrels. Does anyone "make" a "Tanker" Grand with a barrel in th 20 to 22 inch range?

I havent seen any listed anywhere, but some have talked of having a 20 inch made for them. Most of the current gossip about the newly made tankers, is the front handguard not wanting to stay on, because the roll pin was ground off to much for op-rod clearance on the barrel. I had not heard of that issue until these new ones being made. The T26 Tanker never went into any real production here in US for our troops. I had a 20 Inch tanker in .308 made up for me by Tim Shufflin. He did all the metal work and I cut the handguard down on my chop saw. Tim does a great job. Be aware that he measures his barrel length from the front of the receiver. I provided him with a Criterion .308 barrel. I used an HRA Garand that I got from CMP. I think the rifle is a nice convenient length. Shoots very nicely. Makes for a vry nicely proportioned rifle. The issue of the front barrel band pin coming loose is a concern but I use Loctite on my barrel band without the pin and have not had any problems. I'm thinking of having Tim eventually do another one up for me in .30-06

Will he build a shortened rifle, though? That is the topic of the thread. It gets kinda tricky because it involves rebending the op rod and there must still be the right amount of clearance inl areas such as the barrelband and gas cylinder. I've had friends that had Roland Beaver accurize their M1's and M1A's. He does a great job.
