    Slide fire?

I just got my Olympic Arms AR 15 outfitted with a slide fire stock and a 100 round drum. Other then that it's completly stock. I figure that will buy me 15 min of life expectancy in the event of a alien invasion, civil disturbance, revolutionary occurance or if we are over run by zombies.
I saw it in action at my gun shops pistol range and was very impressed. What say you?

Do you really want to know? ATF WANTS to see these in the hands of the baddies. After the next "grand massacre" they'll be able to justify confiscation on a huge scale.

They make an AK version, too. I don't have anywhere near me that lets me do this.

I can see the novelty in it, but its not something I'd spend the coin on.

Yea I guess you can look at it that way,and there is some reason to worry about that scenerio. I just thought it was an ingeniouse idea and as easy as it looks to operate it may take an apocliptic event to encourage me to fire it as I'm not sure where I can. But I do believe in being prepared and now I feel more able to defend my family , in the event of that worse case scenerio.

Besides the bad guys are going to get the real full autos cause they are bad guys.

Good guys get select fire, too, just have to pay WAY more for it! But it's utility is marginal at best. Belt feds have their place, but an ACOG is far more useful than a selector on an infantry rifle. Only hits count. And generally one or two is sufficient.

OK, I give up. Just what is "slide fire"? Or an ACOG?

"Slide fire" is a dedicated bump fire stock for ARs. The rifle is free to move fore and aft in it. There's a fixed shelf on the left side for the tip of the trigger finger. With a loaded weapon- put finger on trigger shelf and then pull forward with the support hand. Rifle fires, recoils rearward, allowing trigger reset, and the support hand pulls the rifle back forward naturally. As long as the finger stays on the shelf and the support hand pulls forward the rifle will continue to fire.

Do a Yputube search on "slide fire" I reckon you'll find video of Bubba and his friends...

ACOG: The optic that is bad news for folk going against US military small arms fire. Anvil tough. Super clear. Fiber optic AND Tritium reticule illumination.

TA648 (6x for 7,62x51 GPMGs and the current Britishicon DMR, the L129a1.)

Etc., etc. And they work well close in, too if the operator keeps both eyes open. The arrowhead superimposed close enough to work as an "OEG" occluded eye gunsight).

Sorry for the fuzzy photos. Haven't mastered doing pictures through a scope.

Thanks JM. I was just impressed by the live demo I saw at the gun shop. My though was after hearing a guy who thought about stopping that calif shooter with his hand gun but changed his mind when he heard the automatic gun fire. I've got a couple of highly accurate long range rifles and my M1s also. The AR will be for suppressing fire even though it may not work on zombies or aliens. HA HA!!
