armenjs - no issues with shooting low. I am about an 1 1/2 high at 50 yards so expect to be at, or near, the same at 100. I have the micrometer sight and its lowest setting is 200 yards.

I'll have to check what number is on my front sight later, it's still dark here, and will post later what number it is.

It does sound to me like your front blade is too tall. If you didn't mind messing with it, and losing its originality (not a problem if you are going to replace it) then begin filing it down in small increments. The shorter the sight the higher the rifle should shoot. And it won't take a lot - I used to do this with pistols that shot too low and had fixed sights.

    Hope it helps -

    Be well
    Steve

Oh, Steve............., please........... Amjens. NO filing the front sight. Do the job properly or not at all. Get a handfull of assorted sizes of foresight blades. They're as cheap as chips and work out how much lower you need to go. Armourers and shooters have been doing it to Lee Enfields for over a hundred years and it replacing one with another was good enough for them, then it's good enough for today

    Steve, really................

Yeah - I know Peter - pretty bad eh? I am really a Blacksmith at times - reprimand received -

In my neck of the woods front sights are rare as Hen's teeth.

Last time I looked (admittedly a few months ago) both Springfield Sporters and Numrich had them.

Correct on the gun stores having them - Numrich is over a weeks shipping away from me and for me personally I'd have to buy more than one to determine what I needed.

I don't need one thankfully. But - ah well - just a thought

Wow a week from New York. I've received stuff from both Englandicon and Australiaicon. It has never taken more than five days and I'm out in the woods of Maine.
I didn't think any place other than Alaska got their mail slower than we did.

I ordered a scope mount from Numrich well over a week ago and it won't be here until Monday late afternoon. Not a large - but if I was in a hurry I'd build it, file it, bend it, or do something other than order it from the East Coast. Not to mention the shipping costs can drive a price beyond tolerance here. So patience is a virtue - and sometimes I can actually exercise it!
