Need rear sight help with my Ross please!!!

Fellas, i have an M10 and the ladder sight was misplaced years ago by my great uncle who passed this rifle down to me. Is it possible to find a ladder sight set? What else could i do? Cut a 3/8" dovetail in the barrel for a leaf rear sight? The barrel is dime bright like new and its a shame i cannot shoot or hunt with this rifle.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. .
    E-bay sometimes has them.

The large Calgary Gun Show is usually Easter Weekend. There should be some there. Ask when you see a table with Ross Rifles, and where the parts Dealers are.

Edmonton usually has 3 or 4 Gun Shows every year too.

I have seen them as cheap as 5 bucks at gun shows, but one is not always THAT lucky!

You still have the Bridge mount and the Screw and Spring, so all you need is the Sight itself and the Pin.

It is an awful pity to own a good Ross and not be able to shoot it. They are, without doubt, one of the finest rifles ever built.

The trigger in the Mark III (as yours) has a letoff like SILK...... and they were ALL that good, all 300,000-plus!

BTW, are there any out-of-the-ordinary makings stamped on your Receiver ring or just ahead of it?

    Good luck!

I can verify that there is always at least one dealer at the Easter show with a table full of bits, including sight parts, but that individual is looking to get much more than what Numrich charges for the sight. The trick with Numrich (one of the few US dealers willing to ship to Canadaicon ) is to order a bunch of items to get close to the US$200 max order limit for Canadians in order to mitigate the US$25 "handling fee" they tack on for each order.
