    Banning Butchers Knives

We just heard some awful news about a bus attack up above the border. Do you think they will ban knives? I'm truly upset to see such a vile attack and even more so because it was up north-SDH

    YEah. what a wierd occurance.

It's absolutly insane that the government hasn't done something to stop private citizens from just carrying knives around. ANd I wont sleep soundly until they really cack down on all of the knives being smuggled in from the USAicon.

Seriously though, what a good argument in favour of concealed carry. Would this guy have had the time to saw someone's head off if any one of those passengers had been allowed to carry a handgun?

I feel bad for the poor bastards family. I was watching CNN and the interviewers were just like a bunch of vultures preying on the friends of the victim. ONe reporter was asking an obviously distraught friend "What were his [the victim's] hopes and dreams?" What a sickening display.

The politician who would be responsible for adding controls to knives, has responded that:

“Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day called Thursday’s incident horrific and said his heart goes to the family of the victim. However, he played down the possibility of enacting tough security measures in Canadaicon’s bus terminals, similar to what exists in airports…

“He also dismissed talk by some opposition MPs of a ‘knife registry,’ saying that millions of them are bought each year simply for kitchen use. He added that there are already provisions in the Criminal Code against crimes and assaults.”
Sounds like a good common sense approach to me, especially for a one off (albeit horrific) event.
