no1 mk3

i have a enfield no1 mk3 and the screw in front of the magazine was stripped so it was repaired with a patch,but now my magazine is really hard to come out.i have to tap pretty good or just pull on it for awhile.could this be a big issue or will it loosen up with shooting and the wood heating and cooling?

What 'screw in front of the magazine'. Do you mean the screw, front trigger guard? If you stripped it, what did you strip, the thread? What do you mean by 'repaired it with a patch?' What sort of patch

I think it needs a bit of elaboration before any sense of an answer can be given

If you fix something with a patch in Armourers language, I seems to mean a wood patch or patchedf up with welding...............

the screw in front of the magazine was stripped when i bought it.it wouldnt tighten down and kept backing out.i took it to a gunsmith who filled and patched the wood with some epoxy or wood repair stuff and re put the screw it once it was set.the screw is tight,but the mag is real hard coming out.i took it out today and it fires fine but nothing changed from the heat.the mag is still tight in there.

Check the mag back strap to see if its short or long, if you have a No4 mag they can stick quite well when used in a Mk3. No4 types are short. If you have the right mag and your friend has been doing wood work it sounds like there's a bit too much wood in the way and will need sanding down a bit. Look for drag marks or scratches on the mag.

sorry heres a link to my photo's,its the 1st picture not the k98 pictures.i have to leave those on the photobucket as they are on another thread.but the screw is the 1st picture.sorry again all help is appreciated.also to add ive been messing with the mag and it coming out a hair bit easier but that could be just me.i have have to wiggle and tug really good to get it out then it just pops.i think when he repaired the wood its tight on the mag area now.
