Nice little thing! But i wouldn´t fire a single shot out of it! The Resistance fighters often commented that you couldn´t be sure who was wounded after firing it, the german soldier or Gestapo man or youself. They´ve often blewn up.

Another case of an excellent idea which had no practical application. The Army turned the pistols over to the OSS, and supposedly there is no account of them ever being dropped behind enemy lines in Europe.

I have a book about these. It's written by John A Minnery and Joe Ramos called American Tools of Intrigue. Desert Publications. It outlines all different types of these weapons and their uses. Silenced versions...one shoots a steel spike??? I have line drawings. It was apparently designed to use only the seven or so cartridges that came with it and then it was done for...
    Regards, Jim

Yes, Vintage Ordnance is making them. The only difference according to them is that theirs has a rifled barrel and serial number stamped on the underside of the barrel. I believe they also do not drill the firing pin hole thru. They do not recommend shooting it and I think they sell for around $500.

The US built them without ever asking anyone if they wanted them. The Britishicon preferred to drop Sten Guns to Resistance Units. Very few, if any, ever dropped in Europe. Not common, but no history, either.

Was offered one last week, vg condition but missing floor plate and no accessories, $900. Should I walk, or run back. It was a model 3, '3 hole'?
