Not only are decent guns disappearing and the price sky rocketing if you do find one but the prices and availability of bayonets has also gone crazy and it's hard to find decent ones especially for th less common milsurps

My Example being ( Bayonet for No 5 Mk 1). The search continues.

You should check out the Forks of the Delaware show, you most likely can find a nice one walking around on someone’s shoulder in the 300 to 350 range. This is the show at the Allentown fairgrounds. There is a show coming up the second weekend of May.

The show is a good place to get a decent shooter grade 98K. Because it is a collector show, the lesser mismatched pieces tend to go for less then other venues. Also because it is a collector’s oriented show, the BS merchants tend to have a harder time spinning their stories without ridicule. Many tables at the show are collectors getting rid of there less desirable rifles. So a mismatched representative K98 will be not all that much money at that show.

Just curious Aragorn, where does one find a Non-Matching Swiss K31?

As the magazines are one of the items that is serial numbered, I've seen quite a few non-matching K31's. All have been with a mismatched magazine. I've not seen one with a mismatched bolt, barrel or other item, always the magazine.
