A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Trying to identify some .303 ammo I got

I know this thread is ancient, but am hoping somebody is still reading...

i Got 2 boxes of 100 rnds at a gun show like 12 years ago..maybe more.
It is in a brown box says "100 CART.
CAL .303 BALL.. on flip side of box Fabrique Nationale Herstal
    Societe Anonyme Herstal Belgique."

    .Headstamp says F at 10oclock
    N at 2 oclock and * at 6 oclock.

Ok so it is FN ammo. However NORMALLY there is a date on the headstamp.
The * kind of throws me. I fired a few rounds through a No 4 enfield.
Goes boom, makes hole in target. I am just figuring it is yer standard 174
grn hardball - and am hoping that it is non corrosive, tho am cleaning my
gun like I was a doughboy in WWI (using the same cleaner he used
..Anybody got any better info on what this stuff is??

    Thanks
