    Looking for Data

I'm new to the forum and looking for some assistance. Is there any archive data available, either on the forum or on line where I can research and cross-reference manufacturers initials/marks for components of 03/03A3/1917/M1icon and M1 Carbines. I remember seeing at one time a document from the Army Ordnance Board assigning individual manufacturers and subcontractors the markings they were allowed to mark their parts with.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards,

    Welcome to the site ...

You can use the MKLicon and select individual entries based upon country of origin. Each entry usually has an extensive photo montage, against which you can compare and learn about various metal and wood markings.

I would recommend you also use the individual forums, related specifically to each genre you have. For example, post your questions about your M1icon Carbine in the M1/M2 Carbine forums.

It's important you include pics of the rifle with its markings that you're looking to find out about. In lieu of pics, a very detailed description is needed so the many experts in the various forums can help you out.

    Regards,
    Doug
