re-barreling a P14
I would like to throw this out to the forum in general.
I acquired a P14 recently. It was a DP rifle that was bored through the chamber and marked DP on most critical parts. I have dismantled the gun completely and had the receiver and bolt checked out by a smith. Seems to be ok.
My question, I am considering re-barreling with a criterion parkerized replacement bbl.
Can the parkerized bbl be blued to match the receiver?

Bob, search through the forums for DP. That'll save us re-hashing this yet again. It's all here.

A good smith could indeed blue the barrel. Try calling Krieger Barrels and ask for a barrel in the white. You are putting a .30-'06 barrel on a .303 receiver? Is that correct? You might run that by Chuckindenver, not so sure about this plan.

You missed the part about rebarrelling a DP receiver Steve. This should never be undertaken under any circumstances except for display purposes. DPs are unsafe to fire no matter what's done to save them. That's why they're DP. We've had a dozen threads on this already. It would almost seem the only people to ask about this subject at this point would be trolling.

Trolling for what? I posed what I considered a straight-forward question seeking some advice. You offered your advice on reviewing previous threads (which I did) thanks for that advice.

Trolling... One searches for a subject of heated discussion and then asks the same question.
