    Range Report - 1891 Mosin-Nagant by Remington 1917

I wanted to scope this Mosin-Nagant due to my eyesight, but I didn't want to drill and tap it. I could not find a source for scope bases that would fit the original style rear sight base. I bought a Scout Scope mount that was advertized to fit all M-Ns. It didn't. But being unable to find another solution, I decided to modify the mount to fit the old style rear sight base.

It took three tries, but I think I figured it out. It ain't pretty, but it seems to work. Here is a three shot group after sighting in.Attachment 34130Attachment 34131Attachment 34132Attachment 34133
