    No, not unlucky, it just comes from my urge to examine every wreck I see for "shootability". But the accumulated experience has taught me that buying a rifle without having had it in your hands (like on online auctions) is a bit of a lottery. You are quite right about the tickets!

    Fellows: Any idea from whom I can purchase that tiny retaining pin that goes thru the rear sight pivot pin? I know this is not the proper Britishicon term for it but ...heck Im a Texan and doing the best I can.

    The usual practice around here is to make a replacement pin from a small brad, a paper clip, "music wire", or any other piece of round steel having the appropriate diameter for a snug fit. No rocket surgery required.

    I'll let you into a little secret.......... What usually happens in unit Armourers shops is pretty well just what parashooter says. There is a handy 1/2" nail/panel pin that is the exact diameter size that you need. We'd get a box of a zillion, cut to size as required and use them. Hammer a small flat on the top and tap it into the backsight axis pin. The small flat will ensure that it stays there
