A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. He is probably an instructor demonstrating for the camera. I think I've seen this same guy in a number of Marine period photos.

The poor guy who had to hump that BAR over the obstacles! They should have given it to the big guy in the lower right corner.

In reply to a previous qustion of mine concerning a friend's (very small in stature) father being issued a BAR in Korea. It was pointed out to me that the smaller man made a smaller target for a weapon that would draw more fire. Makes perfect sence to be and seems to be born out by many photos I have seen with shorter/smaller guys with the beast BAR.

In James Ballou's book on the BAR "Rock in a Hard Place", it was stated a browningautorifle icon
