Even pellet guns deserve a bit of love.

    Hi folks,

A local fellow contacted me recently and asked me if I was willing to refurb a pellet gun that was given to his son. I can't say no, especially if it means a young dude will be shooting with a smile on his face....

I forgot to take a "before" pic of the stock, but here's one of the metal:

The wood was a mess too, but complete. It needed glueing, and crack filling, and then staining and acrylic finishing (the young owner wanted something glossy). The metal needed lots of love, with a brass wire wheel, then I simply cold-blued it. Mechanically speaking, the piston seal was dirty but in salvageable shape, and so once it was cleaned and the cylinder cleaned too, everything worked ok. Yay!

    Lou

I've got fond memories of my air rifles as a kid. Very nice job.

I actually remember looking at the pellet gun display at my Canadianicon Tire store back in the 1970's.

Interesting extra bit of info about this Czechicon air rifle: I have the same model of pellet gun and my kids shoot with it in the backyard. The story behind mine? My brother and I found it in the woods near our house and my dad refubed it!!! I wonder who got me to believe that if it can be repaired, it shouldn't be thrown out?
