Question M1917 dual-marked rear sight ladder

Attachment 35002This is on an almost-all Winchester 1917, everyting else is W marked where appropriate. So- tell me, is this a Winchester part or is it a Remington part? or did the rebuild facility do something weird?

The site staffs on both of my winchesters are marked with the W near the base on the left side as viewed like in your picture. The W is hidden when the peep is positioned all the way down.
