    Trilux parts

Hello...I am in search of some Trilux SUIT parts to repair some that I have here... I really need the giant curly spring that controls the lever/clamp which in turn holds the scope onto the mount...
Also could use some small springs and hooks that are missing on the couple Israeli ones (the Britishicon ones did not use them)

I see that someone was able to round up some new labels, is there a supplier for those ?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I wouldn't mind betting that there are only a few people on this site who know what 'curly spring' you're referring to because it was a later modification to UKicon suit sight mounts. With regard to that spring and the others you mention, maybe you should add a picture of exactly what you mean and I bet you someone on this site will have encountered the same problem and found a fix.

What labels do you mean.......... the name label or the tritium power label?

Another small point is that when you mention that you have some to repair, it could give the impression that you're a dealer or a trader who's out to make a bew £££'s whereas if you were a one-off collector looking for a label or a serpentine spring, they'd be more inclined to help. Just my 2c's worth

I have multiple Trilux scopes acquired over the years and some of them have weak or broken springs that hold the lever/clamp... I am looking for a source for some new or good used ones. Either style is okay, the Brit type or the Israeli type serpentine/curly spring.... I attached a pic of the Israeli type spring. As for labels, I could use the large, side panel label (metallic square ones)

I also could use a few of the small 'hook with spring' that goes on the Israeli type scopes. Attachment 35283Attachment 35282

The last tritium vials were made by Avimo and Saunders Roe in the early 80's or so. So given a 10 year life, any tritium light sources still out there will be about as dim as a Toc-H lamp by now.

Bodies were done in two ways. At unit and Field workshops they were touch painted in but at Base workshops they were stripped, degreased coated in an alloy type primer then painted in the usual Sunkorite spirit based paint but baked at a low temperature.

Unless I am wrong......, wasn't the boresight target just drawn onto plain white paper from the dimensions in the user handbook or Military Training pamphlet and used withy the rifle that was sat onto that strange locally made rest thing called the 'Warminster Rest'. I seem to remember also using a sub calibre barrel to ensure the correct collimation of the bore. A better (?) way that I used was to just de-primer a commercial cartridge case and use that.

The actual zeroing of the SUIT on the range was also a bit of a sham because the weak and flimsy sight mounting method to the cover effectively ensured that it'd never hold its zero in a month of Sundays - and they never did!

    Next question...........

I found some on Ebay. They were not original, but much smaller. I dug out the original vial remains and the stuff holding it in. I used silicone calk and glued two replacement vials in. Fine amount of light and functional. I suspect that even a purist would only complain if he/she took the SUIT to pieces.

The opriginal vials weree held into the knob by plaster of paris as I recall. Just l;eave the knob in water and it'll soften enough for the vail to fall out, unbroken and safe
