You need to find the proper bolt now. Try: Springfield Sporters. Mind you it will likely not headspace. Chuckindenver is honest and a good guy for this project. He will give a price up-front. Good luck.

I would chekc that most carefully. Can you actually chamber a 270WIN round? It looks as if the rifle has the original military (stepped) barrel, in which case the 7mm bore (especially when worn) will be oversized for 270WIN.

No my other mauser is a 98 in .270 this one i just picked up the other day at a garage as i have a soft spot for old guns that have seen better days
