I like all WWII "backbone" bolt action rifles.
    KAR98k
    1903 et al.
    Arisakas, big and small
Enfields, all No.'s and Marks especially the No5 Carbine
    Mosin/Nagants, 38, 44, 91/30
    Carcanos
P.S. I like shooting them as much or more than just collecting them. I can easily overlook non-matching examples as long as they shoot well.
    Thanks for indulging me. Al

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Anything with a canadian history but particularly SMLE's. I just love that snub nose. I would love a modern black synthetic tanker version in .308.
I also like stuff from the soviets but don't own any as of yet. I may try to get in on the next shipment of Russianicon SKS's or a Mosin or even an SVT40.
I am also into bayonets especially Ross and brits but I want a Jap just because the 1907 was based on it although it probably killed a lot of civilians and prisoners. I guess I am not so forgiving either.

    Milsurp survey

Very interesting results. Of course if ROSS had been listed, it would be number one by far.

I voted LE, other mausers and other (Swede and Steyr M95) because that is what I have. My collecting "philosophy" however is not to specialize but to get a little of everything. This goes for milsurp as well as non-milsurp. I started with a bubba'd #4 for a cheap deer rifle and a M38 Swede I picked up from a friend. A second M38 came as a package with the Steyr carbine. A Yugoicon mauser M48 BO was picked up from a co worker who wasn't using it and traded for a case of Stella Artois (Cost me $52). I hope to pick up more without duplicating too much. A proper Longbranch would be nice as a next purchase. As I am expanding the collection I am also looking forward to reloading different cartridges and shooting cast as much as possible.

I find the thrill in the search as much as the aquisition.

    Canadian Milsurp

I am primarily interested in Cdn milsurps. Have a Long Branch and couple of Ross. Currently looking for full length full stock Ross MkIII. Hopefully will find an Inglis Browning at a price I can afford. Also looking for #1 Mk3 with Cdn broad arrow mark. See where it goes from there.

Should have had a box for "all" or maybe a poll listing degree of preference. Guess I just want them all!
