BDLicon LTD can probably provide the timber and perhaps even the small bits. Working on a similarly molested No1 Mk3. Very rewarding project. See my Lithgowicon No 1 Mk 3 forend post to see just how helpful the folks here are if you find yourself with questions during the process.

I have a few of those ( cut barrel ), and they can make a nice full wood shooter. I returned one to full wood, and the other is getting a L42A1 treatment.
Unfortunately the barrel has been cut on yours and it will never truly be able to be fully restored. Its is up to you, what you want to do. I did mine for myself, not for how much it would be worth in the end. I am sure my full beech wood resto cost me more in the end that what it is worth. Doesnt bother me, I do enjoy working on and shooting these.

The sporter you have there goes for $125 - $150ish . But like I said if you love these rifles , put a few dollars and some work into the project. Shoot it and enjoy it.

Be warned, these critters are very addictive!! You will spend countless hours scouring the web for elusive parts, draining your wallet and rubbing on some BLOicon!!

Short barrels can be returned by sleeving a portion of a new barrel with bayonet lugs, etc. onto the old barrel with the seam located under the front sight ears or handguards. The new barrel is free bored. I did have one done where the gunsmith actually lined up the rifling with the original barrel before soldering it in place. It looks like the barrel is ringed but it is now complete. For years I would buy any cut off barrel ends for just such an event. And no I don't have any left.

If you can wait for a few more months, Criteriion will have barrels for the No. 4. Not necessairly 'original', but it will be shootable. I sent them a couple of my barrels to help out with measurements. It's been quite a while now, so hopefully they will be available soon.

I have a 1945 LE Sporterized #4 and your pics are the only others I've seen with the wood dots on the forearm under the receiver.
