Fourth, T-Housing pictures. Look at picture # 1941. There is a cane (with two dots on either side) shaped marking on the hammer, near it's bottom. Anyone else have this marking on one of their hammers? What does it mean? Is it a greek letter or something? To me it looks like a masonic symbol, "Tubalcain". (look that up and see if it looks like this to you?) I read that these markings were worked into some of the firearms in WWII?

Fifth, Barrel pictures. Not any questions much about these from me...

Sixth, Stock related pictures....the handguard has no markings. That's a chink, dink, or chunk in the wood.

Rokwell, Many thanks for the time and effort you have put into
contributing to our I.P. knowledge. I am not happy with your trigger housing, compare with this pic. On an I.P about 2000 before yours. Look at the edges of the hole amongst other things. Bubba and Bruce maybe able to suggest where we can take this ? Looking and learning, Cheers, Mike.

Mike I checked mine to be sure and the locater hole is the same as Rokwell's trigger housing. Mine is about 550 before his. Now my bolt does not have a 2 on it and no 2 on the slide also. The only other thing different between his and mine other then the stock is the barrel date with mine being 1-43,the leaf on the rear sight on mine is not marked, just the base is. The IP in the slide well faces in on mine and his faces out. The marking on his hammer is not on mine and I would hazard a guess and say it was just a handling mark on his hammer.

Thanks Mannparks, Mike, Bruce. This is exactly what I was hoping for, I knew you guys would dig in and we would all notice or learn something new. This is interesting about the t-housings. I can't believe how different the housing looks that you posted. Yet they are in existence as it seems? Wow.. maybe they switched to a slighly different mfg method somewhere around the progression in s/n ranges we have? My issue is, other than pictures on gunbroker, here, I really don't have any other examples to compare to. I've never seen another IP in 'real life' than this one I have!

Mannparks - yes, the guy I bought it from has been collecting since he was a kid, he was ordering carbines from the ads back when they were first offered for sale, he was able to get quite a few then by having family members order. He goes to some of the shows around here, and gets swamped by ppl looking for parts (I've seen this happen). Last year he sold almost 10K in parts in one weekend (he told me). This guy has a HUGE stockpile, yet I've never seen it all (would love to). He's secretive about having the parts, he mainly goes to the shows for fun as part of his hobby. He just brings the more common parts to the shows. Back about three years ago when I was asking him if he had some Rock Ola parts, he would say 'no but I have some at home and they are not for sale'.

But as I said he is now (past 1.5 yrs) selling off things preparing for retirement.

Lastly for now, back to the recoil plate, impressions in the stock, etc. I do think I see the IP-W impression in the stock, it is very faint but I think it's there. I'll post these pictures now along with a sketch I made of the image to look for (mirror image). You guys can be the judge, though, you have more experience than I for sure! And again, I'm not claiming the stock IS original to the carbine, I really do not know, but, rather I post this for learning purposes!

To me quick look,
It looks like a IR-IP / flaming bomb stock, not a RMC made.
HG looks to be a WRA with the milling style.
Very nice looking carbine.
