    I've seen a few like this. It was a commercial mod carried out during the 50's/60's to increase the field of view. Apparently, it didn't what it was meant to do very successfully because the stop-down shield (the bit on the ocular end of the erector cell) prevented the FoV from widening much more. Interesting though.

    Easy to fix back to standard though

    It was not altogether uncommon for other scopes, particularly Weaver scopes in the US. Here's an early K2.5 Weaver converted to eight power:






    The optics in this case are actually pretty good even if the photo isn't the best. But the adjustments are still coarse.

    But the No.32 conversion I've never seen. Is there a maker's marking on the conversion shown above?
