New paint and a new scope for my Norinco.

Just mounted this the other day; a Bushnell Elite 6500 1.25-8x32. The USGI fibreglass stock got a new coat of paint, too.

If it would just stop snowing, I could take it to the range!

I think the US stocks are the only way to go with those. The originals are like a plank, the fiberglass is slim and fine feeling and makes the rifle. Most of them now, need the new paint job too. Well done.

I agree, furniture makes all the difference in the world. That sure looks nice. How does it shoot?

Bill, I'm not sure how the new combo will shoot yet. It was a 2-3 MOA gun previously with surplus ball so that's what I'm expecting.

Have you experimented with ammo on that rifle? I shot 150 grain Remington from my S/A M1A for years and was never really impressed with the accuracy. A few years ago I started shooting Remington 168 grain match and it now shoots a three shot ragged hole at 100 yards. It is amazing how ammo can make all the difference. Mine just loves the Remington 168 BTHP. It likes the Federal 168 match also

I'm sure ammo will make a difference. I've got some 168 gr match ammo that a buddy loaded for my M14. But I shot half of it off in my AIA bolt gun! So far, it's just been Portuguese surplus and Norinco 7.62 in that rifle.

If the AIA is any indication, it shoots 2 MOA-ish with ball, and MOA-ish with commercial Remington. The handloads are sub-MOA in it. I'm the weak link in achieving the best accuracy.

We've had about 6 inches of snow this weekend, so I'm not in a real rush to get out to the range!
