    SAT barrel M91

I don't recall if I posted anything on this forum or not regarding these rifles. Is anyone familiar with them? I have one in my collection. There are very few left in existence.

You are extremely lucky to own that.

    I am extremely envious.

Only around 200 made, and with the loose average Finnishicon rifle attrition rate during 1939-45 at roughly 30-50%, there aren't that many just sitting in anyones local gun shops rack.....

Virtually priceless, more rare than an M27rv....

Can we have some more photos please?

I don't have too many real good pics. I need to take it out in the daylight for that. Here's a few:

    Very nice. I'm still envious.

I see you've posted the rifle on Gunboards a few years ago.... I probably noticed it at the time, but forgot about it....

Yes. I've posted it on various gun forums, hoping to gather any other info available. So far, one fellow has said he also has one. Not exactly a glut on the market just yet. I tried to get a sense of the value of this rifle, but most suggestions were pretty vague. I do know one thing, though. I won't be posting it for sale on the local "Buy & Sell".

I don't think you could easily put a price on it.

People who knew what it was could potentially give you a signed blank cheque, while to those who saw it as 'just another Mosin' you might not get CAD$300.....

You'd probably have to wait until you saw another on Gunbroker (or similar site) and base the value of your rifle on what that one would go for - but I doubt that will happen...

Looking at it another way, if M27rv's sell for around USD$3500, so if I HAD to put a value on an SAT M91 I'd vaguely estimate/guess/pick USD$4500+?

fernleaf: Yes. I had one fellow suggest that it should be worth $3000-4000, but as my old Dad used to say when I would put up my dukes to him: "Ha! Talk is cheap! Takes money to buy whiskey!" So, bearing in mind that there so few declared, I would think that somewhere between $3000 and $5000 wouldn't be unrealistic.

There is a fellow on the CanadianGunnutz site who, whenever FN rifles come up in a topic, chimes in with something like, "Realistically, FN's are only worth about $100." Up here in Kanada, evil FN's and converted FN FAL's are all prohibs, but still sell for good money. More than $100.
