180 or 200-gr. bullets will shoot closer to the sights (elevation-wise) than the 146-gr. factory stuff. I used Lee's data with mine. Helpful people will come up to you and say, "I can see your bullets in the air." with concerned looks on their faces.

Rather than a Lee Loader (which is what I started with 30+ years ago), I suggest you look for a used C press, on ebay or at a gunshow and a used set of .38 S&W dies and shellholder. Not too long ago I bought a nearly new C press for $15, and it will be adequate for any light reloading duty, just not faddish.

Thanks
How are you making out with this? Is it true ammo can't be shipped to canada? I used to shoot 38 s&W and might have part of a box left and/or some fired brass. Would any of that help?
I changed my 38 S&W to 38 special.

I have my dads old Smith and Wesson revolver chambered for the 38 SW. After seeing this thread I looked at how much ammo I had and less than 150 rounds. I think I need to also look for set of dies also for 38SW.

38 S&W manufacturers
Just checked my USA Midway catalog. They list Fiocchi, Magtech, Remington, Ten-X, and Winchester as all making 38 S&W ammo.
Hope this helps
