Yes, very nice! I tried to get a WC63 (winch model) a few years ago but it was sold the day before I got there. It had been sitting for years in the desert. This thing was pretty complete and had a grip of extra parts to go along with it. IIRC the price was $1300.00

Congrats, very nice job done on that vehicle. The use of large single tires, as opposed to duals, is very helpful for off road mobility. The old NDCC ( Non-Directional Cross Country) military tires do not perform as well as a modern tire, but served a purpose when needed. I understand they were developed to be manufactured without natural rubber.

Just as a matter of interest, do you get any special concessions from the State using an old vehicle on the road? For example, in the UK, if your vehicle is registered before December 1972, you don't have to pay the rip-off road tax.

Any other Countries operate a similar scheme?

In British Columbia you can get "collector plates" for any vehicle that is 25 years old IIRC providing it is in original configuration. What it gives you is very inexpensive insurance to operate it.

Now I have seen a couple of very modified "hot rods" that have collector plates so obviously there's a loop hole somewhere in the wording.
