LB NO 4 MK1* on the way

I finally purchased a 1943 LB No. 4 MK 1* to add to my WWII collection. Purchased it from Brian at BDL, can't wait for it to arrive. I've been lurking for a while and made my decision to purchase from BDL due to the positive feedback from the forum members. Brian had been great to communicate with. Can't wait for it to get here.

Hi Matt, just wondering if this is "original wood" or sporterized? Did not want to wait for your pics as I am looking at my 1945 LB NO 4 MK1* which i brought out (of hiding) to have a good look.
I want to find out more about it, I only have the basic story as told by the dealer i bought it from about 20 yrs ago for 150.00 in "unfired" condition, which goes as; "WW2 unopened" shipment found in Belgium, sporterized and sold off in lots to dealers. I'm sure even 20 yrs ago original wood would have been much more valuable as collectibles. What happened to all those original stocks?
Anyway, i'm going to check some of the incredible info avail here, looking forward to your pics.

I know I am not Matt, but I saw this rifle while visiting with Brian at BDL LTD last week and it is original configuration. I'm not sure if this is the same rifle or not, but here is a link to Brian's website showing one of his 1943 LB rifles:

It's in original configuration but has seen rework in Europe at some point as it's one of the last of the Greek issued LB rifles I have available. If it were a restoration done here, I'd surely tell you so. I've only got one British S/A issue, post WWII ROF(F) No.4 and two Canadian No.4's left in stock short of a few that need minor repairs and stock patches before I sell them. The end of an era here as I don't know how to replace the hundreds I had in inventory for the past 10-15 years. Brian

That's not what I wanted to hear, Brian. I was hoping for a comment more along the lines of "I will have to break out a few of the thousands I horded in a warehouse". A guy can dream, right?

If you want one, get it now. I had a run last holiday season and I'd guess my remaining LE rifles will be gone by the first of the year. I sold two just last week. I know where there are more to import but if I manage to pull it off in the new year, (which is questionable), be prepared for prices to double.

Sorry it took me so long to get back. Rifle arrived quickly and was packaged well. Rifle is in great shape. After cleaning, my 14 yo son and I put 100 rds of HXP (77) down range. This is my 1st LE .303 and was impressed with the trigger, how it points and how little the felt recoil is. After a few sighting rounds we were hitting a gong at 150 yards. This maybe my favorite bolt gun, guess I'm going to need a .303 die set. Brian thanks for the great customer service and rifle.
