    Old Rimfire Revolver Help

Is there a place on the forum where I could get some help with a problem I've having with an older H&R 999? I wasn't sure where to post the question.

That's a nice one RCS. The problem I have with my gun is that the barrel latch starts to disengage after I have fire a couple of rounds and has to be pushed back into the latched position. Everything else is fine and I can reliably fire round after round, as long as I push the latch back down after firing. I replaced the latch spring, but the problem is still there. I ordered another latch from Numrich. I don't know if it will fit and work on my gun though. The two different latches they have are the K series and AL series. I have read the K is for 1950-1972 models and the AL is for 1973 models and up. I believe my model was made somewhere between 1937 and 1940. The only parts to the latching mechanism are the spring, the follower (just a round steel ball), the latch, and the ears or posts on the frame. The latch is held in place with a pin and screw on my model. Everything seems to be in place, it just won't stay latched.

Well off the subject and not an attempt to hijack the thread but if anyone happens across an extra set of grips for an H&R 604 I'm in the market.
