    Pre-Victory?

Just purchased what I believe is a pre-victory Smith & Wesson. The serial number is 8132XX and on the other side of the Lanyard ring is the letter P. No V indicated. Serial numbers all match, Grip, Cylinder, extractor. It was sold to me as a Victory model, but I believe it's a Pre-Victory. Barrel says 38 S&W Ctrd.
Does anyone know a date of manufacture for this gun? Is it a Pre-Victory? What is the actual model #/name?
    Thanks
    Vinnie

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. It's a .38 Military & Police, (M&P), Model 1905-4th change. 458,296 manufactured. Serial range 241,704 - approximately 1,000,000. Manufactured from 1915-1942. Does it have any Britishicon or Canadianicon proofs or ownership markings present?

When the M&P revolvers sold to the military reached the serial number 999999, serial numbering the series started over at V1.
