    7.62x54R on stripper clips

Picked up this case of ammo at a gun show today. It's (I believe) 1960 manufacture and packed in wedge-shaped internal packs.

Most of the 7.62x54R I've seen has been loose packed in 20 round paper wrappings. Was the stripper clip packaging relatively common?

I stand corrected. Evidently this is July 1951 manufacture.

In 51 it was being packed for war...in that case, clips would be the only way to go.
