    Another New 1903-A3 Owner

    Good morning,

Here is my new 1903-A3, which I bought from a fellow member of my range.
    Replacement barrel is a 2-groove (1942 or 1944, can't remember which) ,
    and is shiny inside.
I don't think the bolt is the original.
The whole thing is in pretty good shape, I'd say.

I took it home, downloaded a disassembly/assembly tutorial,
and set about getting to know what makes it tick.
It passed the no-go headspace gauge test.

I took it to the range and set up at 50 yards.
One full box of cartridges later and I could cover all the holes with one hand.
    Hmmm, not bad at all.
I set up at 100 yards, added 2 clicks to the elevation, and did it again.
20 shots that could be covered with one hand.
    Okay, now I'm impressed.

This thing shoots right where I tell it to shoot.

    Yep, you're toast!!

    If a 2-groove, it is a 1944 barrel.
