    CCM Enfields

I'm cultivating a collection of Lee-Enfields, and one of the things that has struck my fancy, as a former hockey player, is Canadianicon Cycle and Motor's production of parts. How common are rifles with CCM parts, and are there parts in particular that they more frequently made?

    Welcome to the forums!

It's a good question that I don't believe has been asked before.

And I don't have a good answer for you at this time! I only recall some smaller parts (and possibly stocks?) being so marked. Ian Skinnerton's books should provide a listing of the parts they produced, but I'm sitting at the tire store after having dealt bit of FOD on the interstate highway. Debris 1, tire 0...

    Thanks

I looked through Skennertonicon's book (The Lee-Enfield) and didn't find a whole ton of info on what CCM made. I also emailed him, and he said that he wasn't particularly certain on CCM's production -- and to ask here

The only parts I've seen marked "CCM" are the pressed steel forend cap and front handguard cap which are riveted to the woodwork.

Time to start looking! I seem to recall possibly a barrel band or two, but it may be just the caps.

While I'm not a great parts name noticer, but I have only ever noticed this on the fore-end and handguard end caps as we used to have to re-rivet them occasionally

I have both Mk.1 and Mk.2 Bren tripods made by CCM. The Mk.1 is New Zealandicon owned and complete. I had several CCM and BSA Mk.1's and only one CCM Mk.2 which is with my post sample 1945 Inglis Mk.2. When the semi-auto Brens hit the market the tripods flew out of here like hotcakes. Before that, you could hardly give them away. I imported one from New Zealand this year for a friend in Virginia. It was a Britishicon manufacture Mk.1 but I can't remember the code. The guy I imported it for paid a small fortune for it too but when he cleaned it up it was like new and complete so it was money well spent considering he has a lovely 1940 Enfield Mk.1 double dovetail gun to put in it!
