1937 Sauer Mod98 Mauser.
Picked up a very nice 1937 Sauer manufactured Mod98 today. Guy was walking around with it, said his father brought it back from the war. Seemed to be telling the truth. No import mark, bluing is very nice, S/147 on receiver, all matching except for bolt, bolt is matching of itself, looks like it's been on the rifle for quite a while, patina is very close. There is a stamp on the buttstock, LK5, have never seen that before. Any ideas? Buttplate is numbered to the rifle, but has a large 225 struck into it as well. Rack number? Also, buttstock has Waffenmant eagles with H, Heer.
Computer is down at the moment, will get pics up when I can. Overall, a very nice rifle.
