Latest aquisition. 1944 BSA No4 Mk1 (T)

Here are some pics of my latest puchase. One of those 'have to have it' moments where a rifle like this comes up at a price you cant pass on.

1944 BSA m47c, genuine but non matching no32 mk3 scope. Will post a range report when I find the time to clean all the crud off it and shoot it.

It was advertised on usedguns.com.au, by its previous owner in New South Wales, Australia. I happened to check the whats new section and it had only been listed 10 minutes before I snapped it up. Got lucky I suppose.

BTW there was a No1 MkIII HT sniper advertised for AU$8000. Sold within minutes. Prices over here are getting craaaaazy high for genuine articles.

Very nice unadulterated piece. The 'A' prefix would make it an early 44 manufacture rifle. Out of curiosity can you read the original scope serial number? It's very likely to be for a Mk2.

Cheers. You have a lovely looking Mk3 scope there, but if you look at the butt just behind the cocking piece of the bolt you will probably see (it is missing in a few cases where rifles were converted but not scoped up) the original scope serial number.

Original scope number is.... 14762. Dont suppose anyone on this forum has that scope on their rifle?...... What would the chances be?

Telescope 14762 hasn't ever crossed my desk but its brother,14761 has. That one was a Mk2, then a 2/1 then an L1A2. So has almost there 14764 been overhauled by me
