For which Garand would this stock be correct?

With the recent purchase on M1icon Carbine parts I also bought a nice looking M1 Garand stock. Never had the time to take a closer look, but I came across it today.

Was wondering for which rifle this stock would be correct? WRA would be Winchester Repeating Arms, GHD would be Guy H. Drewy as with the M1911A1s? Was the Ordnance wheel added the same time? And BA is Benicia Arsenal, right? Would the BA mark be an arsenal overhaul after WWII? And was there added the second circled P at the bottom of the pistol grip?

I do not like those markings. The A is to skinny looking and the bar is to low. The G looks more oval and is way to close to the edge of the box. I could understand age but to many things are out of place.

Thsi makes me suspicisous of the stock also without a hands on of more pictures. Rick Bicon

Over here in Europe nobody would fake a Garandicon stock cartouche.

    Rebuild P

Probably, but I've never seen one before. In addition, I think the normal circle P stamp is curved to fit the curve of the stock, this one looks flat.

Is it true that Circle P was used for factory proof and non-circle for rebuild? Comparing the stamp on the bottom of the pistol grip I have been unable to find an example that has as much space between the bottom of the P and the circle. In the first link below I have no idea if these are genuine stamps or not, the author doesn't state. In the second is a neat slideshow from CMPicon archived posts comparing a WB vs GHD vs Repro stocks.

I've did better pictures with the DSLR camera (instead of the mobile). Please note that I've also digitally worked on them to make the markings better visible, therefore the colours might be different than the stock really is (and I've also used a neon tube as a light).

The circle P on the bottom of the grip is correct for BA [benica arsenal] . As for the odd letters, must be an issue with wear then but those letters still look off. Rick Bicon
