A nice list but not a complete listing.

I'm sure there are many more, but a few quick ones that come to mind are:

    Windtalkers................2002
    Heartbreak Ridge........1986
    The Thing..................1951
    Objective Burma.........1945

I noticed some the other night in Good Morning Vietnam. They were on the shoulders of soldiers marching in formatation at Tan Son Nunt air base. Thinking had more of those avaliable in Thiland where it was filmed. Thought none would notice or is it plausable?

the M1 Carbine on the silver screen

Good Morning Vietnam was sat in 1965, so it's very plausible to see carbines. I think they actually had too many M16icon's.

Good Morning Vietnam is on the posted list, 1987.

Carbines were around there at least through 1968. Had one on my boat.
