    Rock-Ola arrived

It's pretty much as advertised. Rock-Ola 6084207 with Recoil Plate marked R over SG, RO marked slide, Barrel marked Rock-Ola over gas piston housing and on top behind the front sight.....no date with P about 4 inches rear of front sight. Low wood Inland stock is very nice but the OC cartouche is all but gone so possibly sanded. All the other parts are typical rebuild mixmaster. Barrel gauges under one and is bright. Rear sight stake mark is consistent with a adjustable rear sight and no sign of flip sight stake. So, I have decided to restore it in that thanks to PI a type II band has been located and purchased. I've got the rifle stripped so I'll post some pictures when the project starts coming together. Regards, Rick.

The original rear sight was changed out during rebuild....I'll need to find a correct replacement.....same for the front sight. Regards, Rick.

I think he might have been asking what you're current adjustable rear is marked, at present. If I'm understanding correctly.

    Rick,

Here's a couple of shots of the stake marks and position of the flip sight on 6084458. With the Germanicon blue finish it may be a little difficult to see especially on the left side. Very tiny chisel marks there. These stake marks are very similar to a 4.5 Rock also in my collection.

It would make sense that a Rock-Ola could have either type sight in this range. Of interest is the German numbered RMC type 2 stock found on this Bavarian with type 2 band marks only, along with the narrow sighting groove type 2 RMC hand guard also numbered to this carbine.

Perhaps Rock-Ola was using up earlier parts and a mix should be expected this late in the game? Unfortunately there appear to be very few surviving 6 million Rock-Ola's known to make further comparisons. The many fake Rock-Ola parts, bogus acceptance stamps, and put together carbines do not help matters.
