    New user and 1st carbine

Well I was able to fire the carbine today and it sure shot great. I kept waiting for a problem and it never happened. Sure love this rifle. Went to the indoor range because the out door one is under too much snow. So I was limited to twenty five yards and most shots were touching. I must have used the wrong grease on the slide because it turned black and started to leak out. What should I be using?

    Thanks

    JB

Welcome to milsurps.com JB! Glad to have you with us. I agree with the others. Shot it, have fun with it! It sounds as though you may have used too much. I use red lithium grease on all mine applied with a Q-Tip. It really doesn't take much.

Try Shooter's Choice all weather synthetic in the large syringe- works great, and will not harden or thicken.

JB, Somehow I missed your thread altogether and just now found it for the first time. Welcome, and it sounds like that new carbine is a great shooter! I have a CAI import I bought a year ago and it's the most accurate one of my carbines that I've shot - I still have (2) that I haven't tried out yet. I agree with Bill about the grease, it doesn't take much - I found out the same way as you. You might want to grab some extra mags if you don't already have some, the price seems to be going up fast lately. - Bob

Thanks, I sure love the rifle and have been reading up about these carbines. I sure hope I can buy a few more of these in the future. I'm going to buy a sling, stock pouch and a bayonet for it soon. .
